Specialist assessment for destitute migrant families

As well as our work supporting young people in France, a lot of our time is spent in the UK, supporting families who, because of their immigration status, are destitute.

we are unique in that we can work with partner organisations and legal representation to produce specialist assessment of need, which can be used to challenge local authorities offerings of support and support families in getting what they need to meet their basic needs. Alongside this assessment work, we can also provide tailored, culturally sensitive family support.

We are currently working with several families, some of which are street sleeping and others that are facing homelessness or eviction. Some of these families have young children who are sleeping on the streets.

Our support and assessment is unique in that it can be used to hold local authorities to account, to uphold the rights of migrant families who are homeless and to help ensure the right level of support is received.

What we need your help with

To produce a good, child centred assessment of need, many sessions across many weeks are needed. Our practitioners work for free producing these reports for courts, solicitors and to challenge authorities. They pay out of pocket for their expenses.

We want to raise just £1000 to help us reach even more families and to help us to carry out more assessments. £1000 will mean we can support an additional 10 families with specialist assessment and advocacy and increase the reach of our volunteers.

Thank you for your generosity
